About Hospice: Hospice: Hospice provides medical and emotional care to people who are terminally ill. They provides end-of-life support that focuses on comfort, pain management, and emotional well-being of ill individuals. Hospice services can be provided at patient’s home, nursing facility, or dedicated hospice center by a skilled team including doctors, nurses and social workers. Unlike treatments that aim to cure disease, hospice care is designed to relieve pain and manage symptoms, while providing emotional, spiritual, and psychological support to both patients and their loved ones.
Hospice Care is end-of-life care for patients and their families. Hospice focuses on controlling pain and symptoms. Hospice care begins in the final six months of life and is usually provided in the patient’s home, but it can also be provided in a hospital or nursing home. Hospice care is a Medicare benefit. Hospice focuses on caring, not curing.   • Makes short-term inpatient care available when pain or symptoms become too difficult to treat at home, or the caregiver needs respite.
